The Gold Dust Woman Shines Bright In Hyde Park

The Gold Dust Woman Shines Bright In Hyde Park

Stevie Nicks wows the Hard Rock Calling Crowds

A stomping start to stonking set, Stevie Nicks opened her Hyde Park set with a blistering rendition of Stand Back, and that we did, in awe of the legend who stood before us!

The thrills continued when Stevie asked: “Who will be her lover?” as the crowd slowly acknowledged their recognition of the mighty Rhiannon.

Next was Outside The Ring from her Bella Donna album, closely followed by Dreams… the audience were enraptured.

Bedecked in a shimmering golden shawl, Stevie herself looked every bit the Gold dust woman as she launched into the Rumours closer and song of the same name.

A wonderfully tender rendition of Landslide gave way to a pummelling guitar riff and the opening chords of everyone's favourite Edge Of Seventeen, which closed the set.

There were mutterings in the crowd, people saying how this performance "took them right back" and remarking on her incredible "passion and drive". I think that says it all, and it's certainly one moment that we're not likely to forget for a long time to come.
