Hard Rock Calling 2012
Hard Rock Calling took place in Hyde Park for the last time in 2012. We saw a solid weekend of rock 'n' roll, headlined by the likes of Soundgarden, Paul Simon and Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street band.
Our Friday night headliner was the mighty Soundgarden, who performed an epic set under a dark sky - perfectly suited to their massive track Black Hole Sun, which they performed to a very loud crowd! Friday also saw performances from the likes of Iggy And The Stooges, Cold Chisel, The Mars Volta, Black Stone Cherry and more.
Saturday nights headliner was Bruce Springsteen, who smashed it once again. Along with his E-Street Band, Bruce played an epic set of almost 3 hours. Paul McCartney made a brief apperance, which sent our crowds wild. It was a headline set that will undoubtedly go down in rock and roll history. After Bruce had to be cut short at the end of his set, we are very excited to have him back at Hard Rock Calling for 2013!
Saturday's line-up also included John Fogerty, Lady Antebellum, Tom Morello, Amy MacDonald, Lawson and more.
Sunday was a day of sun, fun and great music. The one and only Paul Simon took to the stage for his headlining slot, and was joind by a multitude of artists and performers including Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Jimmy Cliff, which made the event even more special. The whole of Hyde Park was up dancing You Can Call Me Al.
Also on the Sunday line-up we had Alison Kraus, Big Country, Jerry Douglas and loads more. As our time in Hyde Park comes to an end, HRC heads to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in 2013 for an even bigger and better event! See you there.
